Combined worker screening application

Under the No Card, No Start laws you must have a valid blue card (or be notified of approval) before you can start working in regulated child-related work or provide certain disability services to children.

If a person is engaged—or proposes to be engaged—by an National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider or state-funded service provider to undertake disability work in Queensland, they will also need an NDIS or Queensland disability worker clearance.

Individuals working with children with a disability can apply for both a blue or exemption card, and a disability worker screening clearance using the combined application through the Disability Worker Screening website.

How to apply

Once an application is lodged

Disability Worker Screening will process the disability application first and will then advise the individual of the outcome. Once an outcome is received, Blue Card Services will then process the blue or exemption card component of the combined application.

If both checks are approved, the blue or exemption card will have the same expiry date as the NDIS or Queensland disability worker clearance.
